Dog Statistics

LDR has done 155 adoptions, 1 transfer to another rescue, had an overflow of 11 dogs from 2011, took in 142 dogs, and 14 returns. This is a 8.9% return rate and of the 14 returns 14 were re-adopted = 100%. (disclaimer – if you are keeping up with the math, please note that for statistical purposes returned dogs are counted as separate dogs.)

  • 12 dogs were “other” incoming (such as abandoned dogs and former 9Lives returns)

Financial Report

This year we received our 501(c)3 status retroactively. It should be mentioned that we work mainly with foster homes, who a lot of times will pay for food. Also, Lucky Dog Resorts graciously offers some of their space as well as man-power to care for our dogs. Those fostered at Lucky Dog Central receive training from our Apprentices. In June the Waldo Canyon Fire put our community into a new perspective. Lucky Dog Resorts offered free boarding for those evacuated. Rescue volunteers were on hand to help care for those displaced. In return, the community stepped up offering to help with manpower and in-kind donations. What LDR wasn’t able to use we in turn donated to those needing it most. In the spirit of community we also donated 10% of the proceeds of our annual Fundraiser to the Waldo Canyon Fire Fighters fund.
