Quality Play at Lucky Dog!

We have designed a dog daycare program, which we feel better facilitates the natural activity and rest response for dogs. Our daycare schedule eliminates the regular mid-day naptime, opens up our play floors, and incorporates rest periods between the dog's play periods. We have increased the number of staff per dog to better observe your dog as he plays. Basically, we give your dog more room, more time to recover, and more supervision, greatly improving the quality of his play intervals. This is an original Lucky Dog concept!

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROGRAM

More Room to Play! Dogs release more energy, and our games (tennis, bubbles, follow the leader etc) are performed over larger areas (more than 7,000 indoor and outdoor square footage at each facility). The dogs have more running room, and less close contact that, in certain situations, can cause problems.

The Thinking Dogs daycare! The very act of changing location (from play floor to rest area and back again) varies your dog's environment and sources of stimulation. Just the act of moving dogs around provides interest during their daycare day!

Me and my gang! Dogs, as always, play within their own size group. We have decided to join the medium and large dogs because our trainers tell us the differences in these sized dogs (the way they play and behave) are practically non-existent. Also, with the increased space and better supervision there is less chance of canine disagreements. Smaller dogs will be played and rested together and not be exposed to their larger friends. We also create a "mini" group when we have very tiny dogs playing.

More human companions! Your dog will have more human supervision, and our staff has easier access to the dogs - no gates or separated areas to get through if there are any problems. Some canine care facilities get around the Dept of Agriculture rule of 1 supervisor for 15 dogs by counting a front desk person or cleaner outside play area as a supervisor. This is an unsafe practice because that person is distracted and may not be watching the dogs as carefully as they should be. Also, when our dogs go outside the supervisors go with them - not true for all canine care facilities! Most, if not all, modern canine care facilities have webcams so you can watch the human to dog supervision provided by that facility. If there is no handler WITHIN a dog group, or more than 15 dogs per supervisor, that's a red flag. Check out Lucky Dog web cams and note that the supervisors are always in the group with the dogs.

Special Dog Daycare Equipment to Climb On, Over and Through! The dogs have access to all of our special dog daycare play equipment which adds to the fun!

A Well Rested Dog Plays Even More! Dogs given more rest throughout the day, rather than one naptime at mid-day, play harder during their play times. They are of a better temperament with their canine friends, while experiencing a healthy amount of exercise. We give the dogs opportunity to rest every hour and a half, to rejuvenate and refresh, ready for the next round of play! The rest periods are taken in their own kennel, which follows a more natural behavior for dogs - resting in a den. Dogs left on playfloors all day long have to find a place to try and get some rest without being disturbed. It's like having a preschooler rest with other kids having fun around him - it just does not work!
